"Stunning vocals, thick with personality, meander stylishly through this alternative Americana single. Backed up by a simple, spacious soundscape, and a gentle marching rhythm with trip-hop tendencies – the whole thing consistently progresses from good, to great, to brilliant."

hello there

Award-winning singer-songwriter and recording artist Adalia Tara, writes music with a message. Her songs inspire courageous awakening, give voice to social change, and call for more kindness in the world. Adalia’s sound is deeply soulful, with influences of pop, R&B, blues and jazz. Her voice commands the space. She doesn’t shy away from being an open-hearted, empowered woman who embraces her vulnerability, playfulness and all her quirky quips while performing. Refreshingly down-to-earth, her fans feel like close friends.

Before returning to her Washington D.C. roots, Adalia Tara was an active musician in Sedona, Arizona. She was a spotlight performer at TEDx, played at the Sedona International Film Festival, WomanSpeak International Festival, as well as the International Day of Peace. Her debut music video “Release Me,” won “Audience Choice Award” at the Crossroads Film Festival in Jackson, Mississippi, and “Best Music Video” at the Albuquerque Film and Music Experience. Her debut album of original music, Why Wait, is filled with anthems for our time, reflecting on what makes us human. Her sophomore album of reimagined jazz standards with her band, Portraits Jazz Project, was released in June 2019 and has received excellent reviews by acclaimed jazz critics as well as being named one of the "Best Jazz Albums of 2019,”on All About Jazz.

Adalia Tara has continued to write and virtually perform throughout this challenging year. Her award-winning song and accompanying music video, "Come Home," shines a light in these dark, uncertain times we live in. It invites us to be brave, reminding us of our true, authentic self and calling us to "come home.” The song is the first single off her upcoming EP, set to release in 2021. Adalia Tara's second single, "Give It Up" was released on June 25th - a response piece that reflects on the deeply rooted racial inequities that were brought to the light this year.

"Powerful singing by Adalia Tara."

“...the vocalist is very impressive. Her powerful and pliable voice does not necessarily conjure up familiar singers of the past or present but is a unique instrument..."
